Thammasat asks students with flu or COVID-19 to stay home
Thammasat University issued an announcement on 14 August 2026 setting out what students should do if they catch influenza or COVID-19. It follows a rise in flu and COVID-19 cases among students, and aims to keep the infection from spreading to classmates, staff and patients at the University.
Test positive with symptoms? Do not come to campus
Stay away from on-site classes and activities, and rest until your symptoms improve overall and your fever is gone.
If you test positive
Work through these steps if you test positive for flu or COVID-19 and have symptoms.
- Stay away from on-site classes and activities, and rest until your symptoms improve overall and your fever has gone.
- Tell the lecturer responsible for each affected course, or the unit involved, so they can move you to hybrid teaching or set appropriate make-up work.
- Once you are better and back on campus, wear a hygienic mask, especially in closed spaces, classrooms and crowded areas, and eat apart from other people until your symptoms clear or an ATK test comes back negative.
Stopping the spread
The University asks all students and lecturers to take the same everyday precautions.
- wear a mask when you have respiratory symptoms
- wash your hands, or clean them with alcohol gel, regularly
- keep your distance from other people while you are unwell
- rest and stay away from classes and activities when you are ill, until you feel better
The University also asks lecturers to pass the guidance on to students and see that they follow it, for everyone's safety.
