Course description

In this interconnected world, media, news, and pop culture have undeniably impacted the way people understand global politics, if not the politics itself. This course introduces students to the study of political communication with an emphasis on media and global politics. Among other subjects covered in this course, we will discuss how media shape politics, how information spreads, and how media are constructed. This course will also pay attention to the development of new media such as social media and how they affect the political landscape.
