Course description

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to China’s role in current world affairs through theories and approaches of international relations. It examines the key events and factors that brought about the emergence of China in the 21st century. It also addresses how China deals with certain contemporary thematic issues such as territorial disputes and trade as well as how China deals with major powers and neighbour countries. Students will learn about the sources of conflict and cooperation in China’s actions, including their impact on regional and global politics.
