Course description

This course examines changing global and local settings and how disasters and risks are managed. Students will explore the concepts, frameworks, techniques, and practices of disaster risk governance through institutional design, interagency coordination, decision making and communication in crises, organisational network, and adaptive capacity building in chaotic and dynamic environments. The course uses case studies and real situations to analyse how best practices and effective and efficient risk reductions are conducted.
