Course description

This course discusses policy process and management of urban planning and development of cities. It explores theories and concepts of its meanings, characteristics, city cycles, the significance and patterns of city growth, and urbanisation. The course also studies principles, processes, actors and tools of managing cities in various areas including city planning, urban environment management, economics of development and forms and structure of city government. It also discusses current issues and solutions of administering cities from experiences in Thailand and abroad.
