Gold card holders

The universal coverage "gold card" (บัตรทอง) is for Thai nationals. If you hold one, you can use it at Thammasat University Hospital after you transfer your registration.

  1. Check which hospital your gold card is registered with.
  2. To use it at Thammasat University Hospital, ask the National Health Security Office (สปสช., hotline 1330) or the hospital to transfer your registration.
  3. In an accident or emergency, go to the nearest hospital. You do not need to be registered there.

The gold card covers diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, drugs and supplies on the national essential list, inpatient room and food, dental care, and health promotion and disease prevention.

Accident insurance

The university arranges student accident insurance. The policy year runs from 1 August to 31 July. If a hospital cannot find your name on the policy, ask the Student Affairs office at your campus to add you.

If you have an accident, follow these steps.

  1. Go to hospital and show your student card and ID card.
  2. At a contract hospital, the hospital claims from the insurer directly and you pay nothing upfront.
  3. At any other hospital, pay yourself and keep the receipts and medical documents.
  4. Take the documents to the Student Affairs office at your campus. Staff send them to the insurer for reimbursement.

The contract hospital for Tha Prachan is Chao Phraya Pinklao Hospital (โรงพยาบาลเจ้าพระยาปิ่นเกล้า). The 2569 policy year, which started on 1 August 2026, has the same amounts and the same contract hospital as the 2568 policy year.
