Getting to Tha Prachan
There is no BTS or MRT station at the gate, so most students come by bus, by boat or on the free shuttle from MRT Sanam Chai.

Boat
The orange-flag Chao Phraya Express boat costs 20 baht a trip since 7 April 2026. It calls at Tha Chang (N9), a walk from campus, and at Wang Lang (Prannok) (N10) at Siriraj Hospital.
From Wang Lang (Prannok), walk to Tha Wang Lang and take the cross-river ferry to Tha Phra Chan. The ferry does not always run, so check at the pier. From the BTS Silom Line, change at Saphan Taksin to the orange-flag boat and get off at Tha Chang.
MRT and BTS
Get off the MRT Blue Line at Sanam Chai, then take the shuttle, bus 2-5 (32) or 2-9 (53), or walk through the old city.
MRT Blue Line fares are 17 to 44 baht since 3 July 2026. Pay with a contactless bank card or a Mangmoom card. Old MRT stored-value cards stopped working on 1 June 2026. A Rabbit card works on the BTS only.
The 20-baht fare cap is for Thai nationals who registered in the Tang Rat app. It does not apply to international students.
Taxi, ride-hailing and motorbike taxi
Ask for the meter in a taxi, or check the fare in the app before you start. Drivers may not know which campus "Thammasat" means. Say "Thammasat Tha Prachan, near Sanam Luang", or show the driver the name in Thai, ธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ ใกล้สนามหลวง.
Motorbike taxis suit the last stretch from a bus stop or pier. Agree the fare before you get on.
Parking
Undergraduates can bring a car onto campus only from 16:30. Daytime parking on campus is for postgraduate students and staff. Before 16:30 the nearest options are Sanam Luang (free) and Wat Mahathat (paid).
