Quick answers
On this page
Campus security
Security guards work around the campus buildings and gates. If something feels wrong, such as an unfamiliar person in a corridor, a broken lock or poor lighting, tell a guard or the Faculty office. For a fire, an injury or a crime, call the numbers on the Emergency page. Call 1669 for an ambulance or 191 for the police.
If you lose your student card
Your student card also works as a bank card.
- Report the loss to TUSU Tha Prachan, so they can post a Lost and Found notice.
- If the card does not turn up, freeze the account in the Bangkok Bank app.
- Go in person to the Bangkok Bank branch by the Tha Prachan gate.
Scams
Fake rental deposits
Do not pay a deposit before you have seen the room and met the landlord or agent in person. Be careful when the price is far below others nearby or when the person says other people are waiting. See Finding somewhere to live.
Phishing that looks like Thammasat
Messages that claim to come from the university and ask you to click a link and sign in are a common trick. Open TU services by typing the address yourself or from the official app, not from a link in a message.
Part-time jobs that ask you to click
Offers that pay you to like posts, click links or complete small online tasks often ask for a payment first or for your bank details. Do not send money to get a job.
Calls that pretend to be the police
A caller who says you are in trouble and asks you to transfer money or share a code is not a genuine officer. Hang up. Tell your bank at once if you have already sent money, and report it to the police on 191.
River safety
- Wait until the boat has docked before you step on or off.
- Hold bags and phones away from the open sides of express boats.
- Take care on piers and railings at night, when the light is poor.
PM2.5 season
Air pollution from PM2.5 dust is worst from about December to April. Check the readings on Air4Thai (opens in a new tab). When readings are high, wear an N95 or KN95 mask outdoors. Ask your course teachers how they handle class attendance on days with high readings.
Flooding
Heavy rain in September and October can flood streets near the river piers. Allow extra time to reach class and avoid walking through flood water. To report flooding, call the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on 1555.
Complaints and harassment
