How to register
You register online at the Registrar's Office website, reg.tu.ac.th (opens in a new tab), or in the TU Greats app. The Registrar's Office sets the registration dates for each semester.
The BIR programme posts each term's course list on birpolsci.com (opens in a new tab) and on its Facebook page, BIR Program. Choose your courses from that list, then register within the announced period.
Credit limits
You can register for at most 22 credits in a regular semester and 6 credits in the summer session. The Dean can approve more credits for a student who is about to graduate.
You must register for at least 9 credits in a regular semester unless the Dean approves fewer.
Adding a course
You can add a course in the first 14 days of a regular semester, or the first 7 days of the summer session. The course instructor must approve it.
After that period the Dean can approve a late addition. A daily late fee applies, and the last possible day is the final day of the semester.
Dropping a course
A course you drop in the first 14 days of a regular semester (7 days in summer) does not appear on your academic record.
If you drop a course and do not replace it, you can ask for a refund of its tuition. Send the refund form and your TU REG withdrawal proof to bir@tu.ac.th within 7 days of dropping the course. See Tuition, fees and refunds for the fee rules.
Withdrawing from a course
After the drop period you can still withdraw during the first 10 weeks of a regular semester, or the first 4 weeks of the summer session. The course stays on your record with the letter W (withdrawn).
After the withdrawal period only the Dean can approve a withdrawal.
If you do not register
If you neither register nor request leave within 30 days of the semester opening, you are dismissed from the University. If you cannot register, ask for leave first. See Missing an exam, leave and suspension.
Failed courses
There are no re-examinations. Retake a failed course when it is next offered.
Check with the BIR office
Ask the BIR office on 02-221-6111 ext. 3409 or at bir@tu.ac.th if your situation is not covered here, for example a late addition.
